Personal Training in West Los Angeles

Personal training at Noor Physical Therapy is different from what you’ll find at a gym. Dr. Brian Noor, DPT brings the clinical expertise of a licensed physical therapist to every training session — meaning your program is built around your body, your injury history, your movement patterns, and your specific goals.

Most personal trainers are skilled at motivating and programming — but they are not trained to assess how your body actually moves, identify what’s limiting your performance, or modify your training around an injury or structural limitation. As a physical therapist, Dr. Noor brings all of that to every session — combining the clinical eye of a PT with the programming knowledge of a trainer.

Whether you want to get stronger, move better, lose weight, improve athletic performance, or simply stay active and healthy as you age — we build a plan that is specific, progressive, and designed to get you to your goals without breaking your body down in the process.

How It Works

Every personal training relationship at Noor Physical Therapy starts the same way — with a thorough assessment. Before we build your program, we need to understand how you move, where your strengths and weaknesses are, what your injury history looks like, and exactly what you want to achieve.

From there, we build a structured, progressive training plan specific to you — not a generic template pulled from a database. Your plan evolves as you get stronger, more mobile, and more conditioned, with regular reassessments to make sure you’re progressing toward your goals.

Sessions are one-on-one with Dr. Brian Noor, DPT — the same person who assessed you, built your plan, and knows your history. Every session.

What Your Plan Includes

Your training program is built around your goals, your current fitness level, and what your body can handle. Depending on what you’re working toward, your plan may include:

  • Strength and resistance training
  • Functional movement training
  • Mobility and flexibility work
  • Cardiovascular conditioning
  • Core stability and postural training
  • Sport-specific training and performance work
  • Movement pattern correction and injury prevention
  • A home program to support your in-clinic sessions

Your plan is adjusted regularly based on how you’re responding and progressing — it’s never static.

Who This Is For

Physical therapist-led personal training is a good fit for anyone who wants more than what a standard gym trainer can offer — particularly:

  • People returning to exercise after an injury or surgery
  • Anyone who has been told to “be careful” at the gym but doesn’t know what that actually means
  • Athletes looking to improve performance and reduce injury risk
  • Older adults who want to strength train safely and effectively
  • People who have worked with trainers before but keep getting hurt
  • Anyone who wants a program built specifically for their body — not a generic template

You do not need to have an injury or be in physical therapy to work with us. This service is for anyone who wants smarter, safer, more effective training.

Why Train With a Physical Therapist

The difference between a certified personal trainer and a licensed physical therapist comes down to clinical training. A trainer can coach you through a workout. A physical therapist can assess why your squat looks the way it does, identify whether that knee pain during lunges is a movement problem or a structural issue, and modify your program in real time based on how your body is responding.

That clinical layer matters — especially if you have a history of injuries, chronic pain, or structural limitations that standard training programs don’t account for. It also matters if you simply want to train intelligently and avoid becoming a physical therapy patient in the first place.

Dr. Brian Noor, DPT has the background to see both sides — the clinical and the performance — and build programs that take both into account.

Our Goal

Our goal is simple — to help you get stronger, move better, and feel better, with a program that is built specifically for you and adjusted as you progress. Whether you are starting from scratch, coming back from an injury, or trying to reach a new level of performance, we bring the same level of care and expertise to your training that we bring to our physical therapy patients.
